Group AccorHotels has created an interactive chronicle of trends in the design of hotel rooms
To travel through time and space and imagine how travelers lived in different years from the beginning of the XX century, you can on a specially created page. Each era has its own style and hotel room, decorated in this style.
The first hotel rooms with electric lighting in 1910, the twenties with a polished design and swinging sixties – the hotel rooms from these eras do not have much in common. It’s not just the design and trends, but also the technical equipment of the rooms – today lighting can be controlled by the cotton, and wireless telephony, plasma panels and the speaker system connected to any device are part of our daily lives, while at the beginning century, a real miracle were the first radios and tube TVs. What, then, will be the number of the future?
Team AccorHotels BeNeLux in conjunction with TravelNext Community Manager Lobke Elbers and author of interiorator.com Patrick Coyman tried to imagine what the travelers are waiting for in the near future.
The authors of the project believe that soon the hotel room will be a continuation of the theme of the trip and its direction. The interiors will be inspired by the atmosphere of the place and created with the help of a bizarre mix of works by local designers and artists to move travelers into an eclectic and very mobile space. The development of technology will go far ahead and go beyond the devices. Instead, the mirrors, walls and windows of the room will be adjusted to the wishes and mood of the guest, creating an augmented reality. Keys in the traditional sense, as well as cards from the number will soon be gone in the air – instead, the doors will open using face recognition technology or fingerprints.
