How to take care of oily but dehydrated skin

It seems that oily skin can not have problems with moisturizing – it should naturally be saturated with moisture. But no, the lack of necessary substances can happen even with the active work of the sebaceous glands and and cause dehydrated skin.

How to determine if you have dehydrated skin
Oily dehydrated facial skin is an indicator that there is not enough moisture in the cells. But its main features:

  • peeling on the forehead, in the eye, chin, nose;
  • a feeling of tightness (with the skin glossy and inflamed);
  • expanded pores;
  • dull complexion;
  • during the day dehydrated skin absorbs moisture from the tonal agents applied to it, because of what makeup can go stains.

How to properly clean fatty dehydrated skin
Do not use washing products containing alkalis (soap is prohibited). Lotions and tonics based on alcohol, too, are canceled. It is best to use milk and moisturizing gels with extracts of herbs that will remove irritation. Tonic and lotions with ANA acids will also help in cleansing – they dissolve dead epidermis flakes, which prevent the skin from renewing itself naturally and prevent moisture and moisturizing substances from penetrating into the deeper layers.

How to moisturize oily, dehydrated skin
Immediately after cleansing, while the skin is still moist, apply serum with hyaluronic acid or glycerin. These substances instantly compensate for the loss of moisture, eliminate the feeling of dryness, constriction. And you will notice a tangible difference after 2-3 days. And immediately after the moisturizing serum, take cream or cosmetic oil for the face. Oily texture does not allow water molecules to evaporate, nourishes the skin from the inside and returns to it tone (and premature loss of tone is also one of the indicators that you are doing something wrong in your beauty routine).

How to choose the right cream
And do not be afraid that moisturizing will cause the sebaceous glands to work more actively. It is simply important to choose ingredients that will not clog pores. For dehydrated skin, a cream or emulsion with vitamins B, C, E, calcium and magnesium, fatty acids, natural wax, glycerin, hyaluronic acid is suitable. Day cream should be with SPF-protection. And one more lifhak for evening care – all means try to put on the face 2 hours before sleep (so that everything useful from the cream managed to get inside).

Home recipes
To cope with the problem, home-made masks (use 1-2 times per week for 20 minutes) will help. They can be cucumbers, fatty sour cream, carrots, cosmetic and essential oils, honey, aloe vera, avocado, egg yolk.

You can replace the tonic with herbal decoctions of chamomile, yarrow, St. John’s wort, calendula, mint and linden. If the skin is not very sensitive, you can wipe your face (in the mornings) with an ice cube, which can be prepared, like a tonic, from herbal decoctions.

Treatment at a cosmetologist
With such a skin, do not recommend any face cleansing (however, in some cases, even cosmeticians were disappointed). Instead, it is better to undergo surface glycolic peeling procedures – in the event that the skin has minor rashes. With a strong acne, it is better to make a choice in the direction of salicylic peels.

What not to do
Under the prohibitions of clay (kaolin, it is often used for cleaning), soap and silicone. These ingredients draw moisture out of the skin, so it becomes thinner, becomes dull, and ages faster. With over-dried skin, refrain from scrubs and masks based on clay, so as not to exacerbate the problem.

Do not recommend and silicones that do not moisturize, and form on the skin film, under which the skin can not breathe. Because of this, blood circulation worsens: the skin becomes dehydrated and becomes faded and lifeless. Also, silicone provokes the growth of bacteria that cause rashes.
