In Italy, a closed display of the first in the history of Lamborghini hybrid hypercar
About 200 “friends” of Lamborghini were invited to the closed show, who pledged not to disclose information about what they saw and, of course, not to photograph the car. However, the edition Thesupercarblog managed to get hold of some information: the car has no name yet and is presented under the factory code Lamborghini LB48H, its release will begin before the end of the year, it is planned to produce 63 sports cars at a price of about 2.5 million euros.
As for the exterior, some design solutions were borrowed from the concept car Lamborghini Terzo Millennio (pictured), shown in November last year. True, a design borrowing was limited: if the concept car was completely electric, with four motor wheels powered by supercapacitors, the Lamborghini LB48H was the first in the company’s history to have a serial hybrid equipped with a V12 gasoline engine and electric motors.
It should be noted that some of the developments used to create the LB48H will be used on the future successor to the Lamborghini Aventador, which will be launched in 2020. More detailed information about Lamborghini LB48H should appear in the near future, after showing the car in New York and Tokyo, where not only “friends” of the company will be invited. Lamborghini will not refuse the production of an electric supercar, but, according to the Director for Advanced Development, Maurizio Reggiani, it should not be expected until 2026.
